  • Homework images: automatically deleted after 6 months from submission

  • Device-specific data: retained locally until app uninstallation

When we no longer need personal information, data is either deleted or anonymized. If immediate deletion is not possible (e.g., in backup archives), data is securely stored, isolated from further processing, and deleted when technically possible.

4.2 Technical Implementation

  • Homework images processing: Images are securely transmitted to our servers and OpenAI for analysis
  • Data localization: User data is stored in EU servers
  • Image handling: Homework images are stored temporarily for processing and automatically deleted after analysis is complete
  • API security: All communications with OpenAI and other APIs use encrypted connections
  • Local storage: Some app data is stored locally on the device for better performance

5. Children's Privacy

Dersim is designed for students, including children. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR-K) to ensure a safe educational environment.

5.1 Parental Consent & Verification

  • Users under 13 must obtain parental consent before using the app
  • Parents will be asked to provide email verification or approve the child's account through a parental dashboard
  • We implement a neutral age screen that doesn't encourage age falsification

5.2 Data Collection & Retention

  • We only collect necessary data to provide educational services
  • No personal data is used for targeted advertising
  • Children's data is stored only for the duration of their use of the app
  • Data is automatically deleted after 12 months of inactivity or upon parental request

5.3 Age-Based Features

  • Content is personalized based on the user's age to ensure appropriate difficulty levels
  • Users under 13 receive simplified explanations
  • Children under 13 do not have access to interactive features such as public discussion boards
  • All AI-generated responses are filtered for child-appropriate language

5.4 Advertising & Third-Party Services

  • We only use Google Play-certified ad networks in compliance with Google Play's Families Policy
  • No personalized ads are shown to children under 13
  • No tracking or retargeting of children's data is performed
  • Third-party services are restricted from collecting personal data of children

5.5 Parental Controls & Rights

  • Parents can access, modify, or request deletion of their child's data through the Parental Control tab
  • Parents can restrict app usage and disable data collection features

We take children's privacy seriously and maintain strict compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). By default, we implement stronger privacy settings before receiving verifiable parental consent.

  • No personal information is collected from children until parental consent is verified
  • Children cannot sign up (create an account) without verified parental consent
  • Parental Gate protects sensitive features with an age verification screen

6. User Rights & Choices

Users have the following rights regarding their personal data:

  • Access & Update: Users can access and update their information through their account settings.
  • Data Deletion: Users can request data deletion through multiple channels.

6.1 Data Deletion Process

  • In-App Deletion: Parents can delete personal data via the Settings menu (protected by Parental Gate)
  • Email Deletion: Parents can request data deletion by emailing [email protected]
  • All data deletion requests are processed within 24 hours
  • Account data deletion includes all associated homework images and analysis data
  • Local on-device data may still exist until you delete the app or clear app data in device settings

6.2 Communication Management

  • You can unsubscribe from marketing emails via unsubscribe links in email messages
  • Manage push notifications through device settings
  • Service-related messages may continue unless account is deleted
